Petra - The Treasury

This MOC recreates the iconic Treasury of Petra, a world cultural heritage site in Jordan. It reproduces the magnificent ancient building carved into sandstone cliffs with building blocks. The model uses light and dark brown and off-white bricks to simulate the layered texture of natural sandstone, and fully restores the exquisite classical columns, multi-layer relief facade and dome structure of the Treasury. Blue-grey bricks are used on both sides to shape the steep mountain rock face, and the bottom is equipped with winding brick paths to restore the canyon passage leading to the Treasury. Meticulously detailed, the work integrates the architectural beauty of the Nabataean civilization with the amazing natural cliff. It presents stunning visual effect on static display, and is a collectible MOC for ancient architecture enthusiasts.
